Main Course (10 Hours)
Build a self-aware and empathetic team culture by empowering your team with practical frameworks, language and reflective space to drastically reduce misunderstandings, miscommunication and conflicts.
Duration
Location
10 hours (5 sessions)
On-site/Virtual
What is it?
Organizations thrive on foundations of psychological safety, trust and accountability. But where there are two or more people, there is bound to be differences in perspectives, values, expectations. Where there are chances of differences, there is likely to be misinterpretations leading to potential misunderstandings, miscommunication and conflicts. Where there are chances of conflicts, possibilities of collaboration are severely limited. The anti-dote is Emotional Intelligence: the capacity to identify, understand and express emotions in a way that aids clear thinking and working better with others. Could your team benefit from practical frameworks, language and reflective space to work better together?
Objectives
We offer self-reflective learning experiences to help you:
1. UNDERSTAND YOURSELF
identify your feelings and needs that are relevant to getting your work done efficiently
2. UNDERSTAND OTHERS
identify how others feel and what they need, and how best to support them in their roles
3. HELP OTHERS UNDERSTAND YOU
communicate in ways that reduce misunderstandings and increase shared understanding to get the job done
From our previous participants
"The lessons have really helped me take a proactive approach of trying to see things from the perspectives of others and clarifying miscommunications before jumping to conclusions. They have also made me more conscious of identifying my own needs, and, as a result, I’ve been able to better express myself and find appropriate solutions. I took this course to help me be a better leader and communicator in my work roles, but it’s helped so much in both my professional and personal life." - Participant

Taster Conversation
Taster Conversation
This free 75 minute taster conversation gives your team a flavor of what Emotional Intelligence is, what gets in the way of it, and what's one small practice to start working toward developing it. Although not a workshop like our other offerings, it can still be a useful way for you to invite important conversations in your team regarding the impact team members have on one another if they aren't self-aware and interacting with empathy.
Duration
Location
75 minutes
Virtual/On-Site
What is it?
We tend to interpret others' actions based on stories about why they reacted as they did. This is the starting point of miscommunication and stress because instead of understanding what's really going on, we are reacting based on the 'what-ifs' and 'buts' scenarios in our heads. With Emotional Intelligence, we can develop the capacity to notice when we're telling ourselves a story. When we can separate this story from what's actually happening, it usually helps us look at things from a calmer place. This can help reduce stress, miscommunication, potential conflicts, and increase well-being. The free 1-hour, 15-minute Emotional Intelligence Taster conversation will help participants explore how we typically slip into assuming and blaming and what to do instead.
Objectives
- Identify one habit that is limiting your capacity to read others' emotions
- Get feedback on how others' interpret your usual reactions
- Create a space for your team to come together and reflect in a fun and engaging way
